No sound on computer - please help!
Need assistance with my speakers. Used to have an excellent set of speakers, but have had them for 4 years. They stopped working a few months ago and now, my family has actually bothered to get a new set of speakers.
Plugged it in correctly, and they appear to work fine but STILL no sound comes out. I am starting to wonder if it is something to do with my sound card. Would anyone know? When attempting to open up a MP3, Windows Media Player song, it comes up with this message: Quote:
CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4, 3217 MHz (16 x 201) Motherboard Chipset: SiS 648FX System Memory: 512 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM) Aduio Adapter: SiS 7012 Audio Device Can anyone help? Last edited by xkael; 04-22-2008 at 07:23 AM. |

Re: No sound on computer - please help!
I was at LEAST expecting a reply xD
So, perhaps I should just take it up to a Computer Technician for them to have a look at it? I am unsure what is wrong and I have asked at two communities. Once here, once elsewhere. I still have no answer. |

Re: No sound on computer - please help!
Thank you for the reply :)
I am yet to check the device is enabled in the BIOS, however, when I went into the Device Manager and checked the "Hidden Devices" I found a new section with a question mark next to it. The category is "Other Devices" and in it, is "Multimedia Audio Controller". After checking this ones information, it came up with this: Quote:
Also, when attempting to download the driver, it comes up with an error. I have screenshotted that also. It is below. Last edited by xkael; 04-26-2008 at 08:58 AM. |
