Microphone is only recording mono

My mic is a yoga fx-528, recently i bought a 6.3 - 3.5mm STEREO jack so that i could use the microphone on my computer. However, i have tried the mic port, rear mic port, AND line-in port, yet the microphone still will only record in mono (on the left speaker). I am fairly certain this is a stereo mic, and if i detach the wire from the mic i can see that it is 3-pronged.

any ideas? thanks

Re: Microphone is only recording mono

Im have just used my yoga 528 with my behringer preamp to my pc, i used xlr right thru but only had a quater jack on the output lead for which I needed a 3.5mm case for the pc, I put gain high and output high to get anything from audacity, mic high also; I am ordering a stereo lead and may try like you, but a mic is a mic, very unidirectional so I suppose mono is all youll get, anyweay the 528 is only a chorus mic, condenser yes but pretty limited; i think your like me you try things out, perhaps we should up our style and go for better mics and maybe better sound cards, mine is an old avg or whatever for an old hpbrio 410, im only singing over elvis backing and with audacities effects i can get some sort of a mix but im thinking of looking or trying better mics, sorry to be so unprofessional im one of these old guys that just try things out, gra.
