I have a dell dimension 5150 and over the last few years had no problems. A few days ago my sound stopped working and since then i havent been able to get it fixed. Ive read thousands of technical support articles and have tried everything but it still doesnt work.
i have the sound blaster!24 bit sound card. so far i have: -Checked the speakers are working by trying them on a another device! -Checked the volume is not muted-apparently this is a common probelm! -updated the driver.. -deleted the drivers and reinstalled them... The creative diagnostics indicate nothing is wrong. All files play normally as if the sound is working fine. The computer system shows all devices to be working properly. under the device manager everything appears to be there under "sound, videoand game controllers."! ive located the sound card under system information and everything is ok!!! if anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it as i have not been so fustrated in the last few days in my entire life. the only thing i can think of is the sound card is faulty but would everything appear to be fine if this were the probelm??im beginning to think even replacing that would not do the job... plaease help...thankyou |
