Sound Card Problem, Please Help
I've got an Asus notebook A6J, and recently reinstalled my XP. After reinstalling all the drivers provided by Asus, I tried playing some mp3 on it, but the sound wouldn't work.
Apparently there was no audio devices installed. So I downloaded and reinstalled Realtek HD audio driver, the one that my sound chip supposedly works with. But after installing it, restarting, I check it again and the sound still doesn't work. In my sound devices, the only available devices are "Legacy sound device" and "sound codec", but they don't work. I went through the threads here, and the following is what the hardware reader said about my computer: Tech Support Forum Hardware Reader. OpSys: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition - Service Pack 2.0 Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. A6JC (Version 1.0 ) CPU: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T1300 @ 1.66GHz (Clock Speed 999 ) RAM: 511MB Video: NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 Sound: Not Reported Drive: FUJITSU MHV2080AT PL (Size ~75 GB) Optical Drive: TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS-L462C End of report |
