Switching to On-Board Audio
I just had to take out my sound card in order to plug in another pci device due to running out of space. How do I get the sound working again? I've got the speakers hooked up to my motherboard audio but I'm getting nothing.

Re: Switching to On-Board Audio
what does your device manager say about your audio?
if this is a branded computer, try going to the manufacturers website and download the latest drivers.

Re: Switching to On-Board Audio
What should I look at specifically on the device manager?
And this is a computer I built myself. Its an asus motherboard and was a Creative Audigy sound card. |

Re: Switching to On-Board Audio
Ok, what I have is "Sound, video and game controllers", thats the only thing that mentions audio in the device manager. Under that is:
ATI T200 Unified AVStream Driver Audio Codecs Legacy Audio Drivers Legacy Video Capture Devices Media Control Devices MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device Standard Game Port Video Codecs There are no alerts or anything. In the Control Panel/ Sounds and Audio Devices it says I have no Audio Playback devices. |
