Hi

Im looking to buy a nice sound card for gaming

This is my current Pc Spec;

Manufacturer:
Overclockers Ultima OC 8800GT
Processor:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 GO 2.40GHz Quad Core CPU Overclocked To Minimum 3.30GHz and Beyond
Memory:
Crucial 2GB Ballistix Tracer PC2-8500 CAS5 (2x1GB) Dual Channel Kit (Overclocked at 1000MHz+)
Hard Drive:
500GB Samsung Spinpoint 16MB Cache SATA-2 Hard Drive
Video Card:
NVIDIA 8800 GT 512MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) DirectX 10 Graphics Card

Whats your opinion on the best sound card for me?

Nice machine :)

Have you taken a look at Asustek's new sound card line? They have a brand new card with much higher quality components than the creative line right now, and I think they're going to give them a big run for their money once they start to catch on. I've been thinking of getting one for myself, since I just bought a pre and power amp for my new speakers, and the onboard sound leaves me wondering if I'm not realizing the full potential of the new components.

I don't have any personal experience with them yet, but I'm hearing increasingly good things about them.
