Sound Skips after a few hours.

I'm not sure if this thread belongs here, because I don't really know if it's the sound card causing the problem.

Anyway, this happens when I play any sort of media, be it a movie, music, or something on Youtube. When I play it for about two and a half hours to three hours straight, without exiting it, suddenly the sound wll repeat the last two seconds over and over again forever. Then if I try to close whatever I was doing, it gives me a "not responding" message.

After that, my sound, completely doesn't work, and media will not open at all. I have to retsart my computer to get it to work again. And at the point of restarting, my computer even says "Explorer trying to display logout sound Proceed or Cancel" or something to that effect.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

I'm running a Vista 32-bit system, with a Reaktek High Definition Audio sound card. But, instead of the sound card, i'm using SRS Audio Sandbox. And no, I don't think it's that program, because this problem happened before I got it.

If anymore information is needed, let me know.
