No sound
I just built a computer. everything works except the sound.
I went through the "Sound Problems? Try This First." post, and that didn't help me solve it, but i did notice that "Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus" isn't there. and there's an "Unknown Device" that i think is likely it. is there anyway that this unknown device could be identified? also, the only sound device registering is "ATI HDMI Audio" Oh, and the sound works in the Realtek audio driver, in the 3D audio tests, but no where else. |

Re: No sound
all devices are shown in the hardware area, but i can't select anything for a sound device to use. (i disabled the ATI audio device because it wasn't doing anything.)
btw, http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813128056 this motherboard http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814103051 this video card (i've seen a few other forums with the same complaint, all recently installed an ATI graphics card) Last edited by cvitullo; 02-22-2008 at 03:37 PM. |

Re: No sound
If you have the original MOB CD try uninstalling the device through device manager then reboot and let windows find it again then point it to the original drivers.

Re: No sound
You need to go into Control panel > System > Device manager t and disable or uninstall the sound device listed there.
Windows is still finding the device listed there.

Re: No sound
fixed it after i reinstalled windows.
I think i installed the drivers in the wrong order the first time, i did that on my laptop and it messed up some minor things like that. just as advice to anyone with a similar problem. |
