no sound device detected in my system
i have realtek AC97 audio system in my computer which is not working,
installed new creative sound card but got same error , no sound device found in your system so song cannot play DirectSound test results: Failure at step 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (no driver) but whenever i select my sound system in direct sound and press test i can hear the sound. Also, my volume control thru control panel is grayed out. There are no devices listed in the fields. It's almost as if Volume Control has crashed. so i have tried so far service.msc : window audio properties is on start device manager: no yellow exclamation mark on sound devices tried to uninstall and install realtek audio drivers In BIOS audio was disabled so i enabled it but didèt help any help would be appreaciated Last edited by bindudhindsa; 02-17-2008 at 02:44 PM. Re: no sound device detected in my system
In BIOS, the audio setting there is for Onboard sound. Are you trying to use the Motherboards audio, or a seperate PCI card?
Try go to the manufacturers website for driver updates.
