[SOLVED] System Keeps Recognizing the Integrated Sound
Hi guys, I recently performed some serious upgrades on my wife's old Dimension 2400, one of which was for the soundcard, because I love music. So I installed the soundblaster Audigy, and part of the instructions was that I disable the integrated sound. I did that, installed the new sound card, but everytime I start the computer, the system wants to install the hardware for the integrated sound. I opened the computer and checked to see if there is something I could pull off the motherboard, but the jacks for the integrated sound is fused to the motherboard (hence the term, "integrated", I understand...). So, what do I have to do to get this thing to stop recognizing that this hardware is on the computer and to stop offering to install it?
I would appreciate any help that you all could offer me. Incidently, I love upgrading and repairing my own systems, and everytime I run into issues like these, you guys have always managed to provide solutions to the problem; so thank you all so much in advance. Sincerely, Erik |

Re: System Keeps Recognizing the Integrated Sound
Enter the BIOS during boot and look for disable audio (or other such words) I will try and find a manual.

Re: System Keeps Recognizing the Integrated Sound
Go to page 73. This shows how to get into BIOS and I would think you would find the audio under "Integrated devices"

Re: System Keeps Recognizing the Integrated Sound
You were absolutely correct. I found integrated sound in the settings and disabled it there also, which in turn fixed my problem completely. Even better, I now know that I need to go into the biod when I change out the graphics on here.
Thanks alot, I really do appreciate it. Erik |
