Cry Laptops Integrated Sound Limitations

Apparently, many laptops that have integrated sound hardware do not support the recording of the audio that you hear when playing an audio file. For me, this is a serious limitation. I like to record wma files (using the Audacity application) while they are playing and export the recorded data as mp3 files. I just recently discovered that I can't do that with my Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop.

Re: Laptops Integrated Sound Limitations

Although onboard audio improves in terms of specs it is light years behind add-on sound cards in terms of functionality. Onboard audio is enough for office PC to fool around with youtube clips once the boss's away. For home PC that you use for watching movies or gaming or actually recording stuff - dedicated sound card is the way to go. USB E-Mu, M-Audio, or even Sound Blaster will be definitely better for recording.
