Microphone makes noise, yet no sound upon recording
Hey guys, I'm actually making this post for a friend, but I'll do the best I can to deliver the system specs.
For the sound card, we're using a Sound Blaster X-Fi 9400, on Windows XP. The sound card works fine, it's just recording that is the issue. We've tested the on-board sound, and the recording works on that. So at the very least, the mic works. Not so much on the sound card, though. We get sound coming through the speakers when we speak into the mic. However, the computer can't recognize any voice being sent into the computer, and there is no sound when playing back the recording. If there are any other system specs you need, let me know and I'll get them. Everything seems to read properly, mic is in the right port as far as I can see, and the drivers seem fine. Device Manager reports no problems. It's just the recording aspect. Thank you for your time! I've always been impressed with the community here, so keep up the awesome job. |
