Please post your system specs. We need to find out what type of motherboard you have. Download PC Wizard, run it and tell me what type of motherboard you have ok?

Re: no sound on the computer

Please post more information. As much as you can please so i can be sure that i am giving you the right directions. I am going to try and help you install the chipset drivers as I beleive this to be the reason why your sound is not available. So if you can give me more info...

To make this easier, go to PC Wizard and click FILE and then SAVE AS and just press ok. Save it the file as "hardware" on your desktop. Open it and copy and paste the text into this thread.

Re: no sound on the computer

Is this packard bell computer? Such as this http://support.packardbell.com/fi/it...2920038&g=2000

Sorry for all the questions, i am trying to narrow down the computer more as it is all very generic still.

In the meantime update windows and see if it automatically finds the driver required. I am still helping though!

Re: no sound on the computer

You are welcome. I would suggest putting all the drivers from that web page on a cd and keeping it safe somewhere, so that when you next reinstall XP you will not have to worry.

glad to be of help.

Re: [SOLVED] no sound on the computer

@marlonbiu: Please read this first: Sound problems? Try these things first.
If you still have problems with the sound after that - start a thread of your own, where you describe the problem a little more.
