Realtek HD Mic Problems

Right, basically i got my new PC today and installed my drivers. My microphone works but when i talk through aswell as hearing me people can hear sounds from my PC aswell and seeing as i use it mainly for gaming people can hear my game sounds whilst talking and it can get very loud, just wondering how to get it back to normal.

Motherboard: P5N-E SLI
Soundcard: Onboard Realtek HD
Operating System: Windows XP Pro

Re: Realtek HD Mic Problems

I am bumping up this post as my problem is identical. My headphones/speakers work fine, as well as the microphone, unfortunatly everyone else can hear exactly what I am listening to also. This is not a "cross-over" problem between speakers and microphone, in fact if i unplug both, people I am connected to thru programs such as skype can still hear everything even if i cannot. My assumption is that this is a problem with realtek HD audio, my only positive find was that if I muted Mic Volume thru realtek people could no longer hear the sounds, however they could no longer hear me talking as well. Any suggestions/thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Realtek HD Mic Problems

I had the exact same problem when using my integrated Realtek HD-card before, now I've got a new one, but I haven't tried the mic yet, my guess is that the Realtek HD card just doesn't handle it well.
