Creative Audigy 2 ZS on Vista 64

hi, well my sound has been giving me problems on vista64 since I upgraded to it 6 weeks ago, although sound has worked ok, whilst running Teamspeak things start to go wrong.
For instance if i'm playing BF2142 or Supreme Commander with teamspeak running, whenever anybody speaks on teamspeak, the sound repeats really really badly, it does catch up, but sounds awful.
I upgraded my drivers to 0004 version, and so far the sound has not repeated, early days though. However with this driver the sound quality has totally changed, teamspeak sounds bad, very hissy and slightly distorted.
Anybody have any suggestions short of buying a new soundcard?

4GB (4x1GB CorsairXMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800)
768MB XFX 8800GTX, Extreme
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bit
AMD AM2 Athlon 64 6000+ Dual Core 3.0GHz
2x 74GB Raptor Sata HDD's (not raid)

ok, it was too soon to say about the sound having stopped repeating, its as bad as ever.
