Picking a Sound Card
Hello,
I've done a lot of looking at sound cards but I can't decide which one to get. Currently I have the gigabyte mobo with HD on board sound. I am going to be buying the Logitech z 5500 soon and i want to run those speakers through digital Coax. I am looking for good card that has a nice Coax out so that I can connect the speakers through that. Price isn't to much of a concern, because I would like to get a nice card. I know that on board has gotten a lot nicer but should I buy a sound card or save money and go for on board. I listen to a lot music and do some gaming. Thanks for all the help |

Re: Picking a Sound Card
In August I got myself a new Logitech 5.1 Z5500 system too and I needed a new soundcard from my Audigy 2... The one I got is an Auzen X-FI Prelude 7.1 made by Auzentech...GREAT card and made for both XP and Vista (actually was made with Vista in mind because Creative Dropped the ball)
check it out: http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php it's a good price for one of the best cards out there. It's still new tho and they are still developing the features. Read up on it |

Re: Picking a Sound Card
Hey,
Thanks for the response. I have a question for those who know. I was reading up on the Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion edition card with the I/O panel. It is slightly cheaper than the Auzen card ( which i was also considering ). just wondering which is better or which is preferred? thanks for the help |

Re: Picking a Sound Card
They are the same. Auzentech have licenced the Creative chip to use in their card. I have the creative card you are refering to and it works well in Vista and XP.
