Strange microphone issue
Hey there,
I've been desperately trying to get my microphone going properly but to no avail. I'll describe what it is doing and hopefully someone will understand exactly what I mean and know how to fix it. All is plugged in and enabled correctly etc etc. Then I go to the "test hardware" in Sounds and Audio Devices > Voice. At the part where it says "read the following paragraph out loud to test" etc etc, the microphone doesn't respond to my voice, but rather the recording meter jumps up and down every time i move my head. It's almost as if the movement of the headset is creating sound or vibrations that cause the microphone to detect sound, but actual sound into the mic has no effect. Strange I know, I just cannot figure out what's doing it. It's not the soundcard either (Creative Labs SB Live!) because the exact same thing happens when I use the PnP Audio Device on the motherboard instead. I had the voice working about 2 weeks ago but not sure what went wrong. Please help! Cheers P |

Re: Strange microphone issue
oh and also, when I try to change the "microphone volume" in record control, it just drags itself back to full volume every time (trying to correct itself I guess).
