New Sound card issue please help
Hi all, new to the forums and in need of help please...
Recenly purchased a Genius Sound Maker Value 5.1 (CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device ???) to utilise my surround sound system more and have come across an annoying problem, all installed fine following the guide that came with it, drivers and all....machine then needed a restart.....when booting after my usual WIN XP logo screen my monitor/pc went blackscreen for almost 3 minutes before a flicker and then came the login screen....logged in (also wouldnt mind knowing if its possible to skip login screen if just the one user on pc please ?. and up popped the menu to utilise my new cards output...5.1 my choice....all worked fine, sounded awesome.........decided to have a reset to see if first time was a one time....nope.....7 minutes black screen.......finally got logged in and went to device manager....i had a yellow error next to SCSI/Raid Host Controller, 2nd of 2...other was fine....checked properties and found (code 10 this device has not started) ???? Now it has gotten to the point i have had to take my card out and revert back to using my onboard sound....which was disabled in the bios thruout.....and its weak cos it wouldnt load windows at all. Please help Superdob ![]() Please help *edit : I have a SL-KT400-C Mobo made by Soltek...and have tried SC in every open PCI Slot. Last edited by Superdob; 12-11-2007 at 11:58 AM. |
