[SOLVED] Is anyon using the SB X-FI Xtreme Audio card?
I need some serious help. I am trying to hear the input on Line-In, and can only hear it if I record. Would appreciate it if anyone who knows how to do this would post the instructions.
Also, I can't find the SB Tech Support number for the U.S. Every where I look it says the number is in the card documentation. If it is it's very well hidden because I can't find it. If anyone has it, please post. I've been messing with this card for 4 days now, and for all I know the card is defective, LOL. This is the most computer problem I've had since back when I was using Win95. Thanks, John |

Re: Is anyon using the SB X-FI Xtreme Audio card?
Not using this model of the X-Fi card but a general rule is that an input source (e.g. a mic) has to be enabled under both recording and playback. In windows there are 2 separate mixers for this which is confusing.
With my X-Fi I have a small programme called Creative Mixer where I make sure mic is enabled under not only recod but also playback... As for a phone number I can't help. I never bother with the phone service myself anymore, most companies just waste your time putting you on hold for 90% of call's time and BSing you into buying stuff for remaining 10%. I find e-mails much better. |

Re: Is anyon using the SB X-FI Xtreme Audio card?
I appreciate the responses, thanks. I should have posted back yesterday after discovering how stupid I am. Line-in was muted in the XP Master Volume Control. Didn't realize until yesterday that the volume control showing in the card was not the Windows master volume control. They ought to be a different color or something, LOL
Anyway, I think I finally got a handle on this card. There is a lot of software out there that's easier to use than Creative's. |
