[SOLVED] no sound from powered speakers

Hi,
Newbie here. I am trying to get sound from my Boston digital powered speakers.

Computer:

DirectX - 4.08.01.0810 (DirectX 8.1)

Motherboard:
CPU Type - AMD Athlon XP, 1266 MHz (12.5 x 101)
Motherboard Name - Asus A7S333 (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 3 DDR DIMM)
Motherboard Chipset - SiS 745
System Memory - 256 MB (DDR SDRAM)
BIOS Type - Award Modular (04/29/02)
Communication Port- Communications Port (COM1)
Communication Port - Communications Port (COM2)
Communication Port - Printer Port (LPT1)

Display:
Video Adapter - SiS 300/305/630/540/730 (32 MB)
3D Accelerator - SiS 300/305
Monitor - Gateway EV700 [17" CRT] (951253953)

Multimedia:
Audio Adapter- C-Media CMI8738 Audio Chip

Storage:
IDE Controller - SiS PCI IDE Controller
Disk Drive - IC35L040AVVA07-0 (40 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100)

Optical Drive- E-IDE CD-ROM 50X (50x CD-ROM)

They are plugged into the onboard c-media CMI8738 audio chip . I get sound through headphones but not through the speakers. They work fine on my other computer. Any help would be appreciated.
