c-media ac97 'no sound left speaker issue' on win xp sp2.
Hi, i've noticed several threads listed about this subject, though no solutions. Anyways, this problem is causing the speakers, which are connected through an amp, to the "front line" port, to function improperly. The left speaker is not emitting any sound whereas the right works properly. Both speakers and amp work fine. The sound will work out of both speakers correctly if i plug the amp into the headphones jack on the computer. I am not sure when this problem occured since it worked correctly for a long long time, but i believe it may have been after a windows update. I also noticed that around the time i noticed this, the beep which is normally heard through the speakers when you click on the volume bar no longer came through the speakers, but rather from the computer itself. Maybe this is a clue, I dont know, but by the looks of this, it may be a compatibility issue or a hardware failure issue, i really have no idea but would appreciate help with the situation, as i'm sure would many others.
Thanks. PS. Before responding please take note, speakers and amp work properly, as does headphone jack and drivers have been fully upgraded through windows upgrade, and there are no system warnings or issues when i check system hardware. LoRe |
