Re: speakars not working

What model speakers?

If these aren't powered and they're on the large side, they'll need an amp in between to drive them. How do you have them hooked up?

Re: speakars not working

So after trying to hook up the externals and then removing them, the internal ones don't work?

Nothing snapped inside the jack, did it? That's the only thing I can think of that would do that.

Re: speakars not working

Strange...unless somehow the card got blown by static or something like that. Do windows programs appear as if they would be playing audio?

If you turn the sliders in the mixer all the way up, can you hear any faint trace of the audio?

Re: speakars not working

Still under warranty? If so, they'll probably replace the sound card, or whole motherboard if it's integrated.

If it's out of warranty, you might have to live with using headphones with a pcmcia or usb sound card.
