Upgrading Sound Card on EMachines 410
Hi
I'm trying to install my soundblaster Platinum Live Soundcard onto another computer as my old one has crashed. When I install all the hardware and start the PC, it hangs. It seems the problem is with the soundcard PCI board as when that is disconnected, it finds and wants to install the other piece of hard ware (the Live Drive). I've disabled the old soundcard in the BIOs settings but it still won't work. Is there something more I need to do (in device manager?). The PC is an emachines 410 running XP SP2, 2.40 Ghz, Celeron CPU 512 ram. thanks in advance! |
