Recording
Hello I'm new! Any help is much appreciated.
I use Audacity and Kristal Audio to record. I'm on an insignia 2.8 XP PC.. On both platforms I can't seem to record a new track while listening to the previous one without the previous track recording WITH the new track, causing loss in quality and poor mixing.. I have "play previous track while recording new track" selected. If I don't, I can't hear the previous track at all while recording. I should be able to record separate tracks while listening to the previous, shouldn't I? I've gone to my device manager under realtek 97 resources and the "edit settings" box is grayed out. I've gone to my sound settings and made sure only Line In is selected for recording. Still doesn't work right.. Any clue? Mike |

Re: Recording
I've never used audacity, but in cubase you have to set the tracks you want to monitor to 'monitor'..i.e. you are monitoring the tracks, not adding them to the recording you are making (gee, just how many times can I use the word monitor)...I assume there is some sort of manual with these programs? multi track recording should be one of the subjects covered
