I recently replaced my hard-drive and now my AC97 on-board sound card wont work. Ive tried installing several drivers that I've gotten from the Acer website and the standard Windows driver, none have worked

Re: Lost audio
Hi and welcome to TSF
![]() Did you remember to install the chipset driver before the audio driver? I searched for Veritron 5500G in vain. However, these are the downloads for the motherboard you have according to the report in your post (different computer model): http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers...iton_7500.html |

Re: Lost audio
Hi dcamm1987,
Did you get your Sound Driver sorted? The chip is a SigmaTel C-Major. Unfortunately, Acer's Product Support leaves much to be desired and I've had a job getting all the drivers myself, but you can get the appropriate audio driver from: http://support.gateway.com/support/d...206.14.01.4175 Or just go to http://support.gateway.com/support/d.../dlcenter.asp# and search on "C-Major" in the Driver and Download options box. Also, I see your BIOS could use an update. The latest seems to be R2-B4 which you can get from: ftp://ftp.support.acer-euro.com/desk...os/s88m2b4.zip Now, can I ask you a question: What utility did you use to print out your System Info? HTH! Cheers, Al |
