inexplicable speaker problem
Today I replaced my Wireless card with an external Wi-Fi adapter - i.e. I removed the old internal Wireless card from its PCI slot...although this has nothing to do with my problem. After re-connecting everything and re-booting however, I tried to play a few songs and noticed that NO SOUND was coming out of the two rear speakers! I have a 5.1 Logitech system with a sub and satellite which was working fine (sound out of all speakers) until I took out the network card...Everything is connected the same and I didn't change any settings (speaker settings set to 5.1 in control panel, some audio playback source.etc.etc). I have an Audigy 4, btw...All the cables.etc running to the computer are secure and correct (green plug, yellow plug, black plug all plugged into matching coloured jacks.etc.
When I fiddle around with the plugs while a song is playing, only the GREEN jack seems to receive input (for the two front speakers), while the black and yellow do not (channels for rear speakers). What on earth could be the problem? I want to test if the soundcard jack is faulty but don't have another 5.1 system handy...is this the main possibility? Is there any other way of testing this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Re: inexplicable speaker problem
You might want to check that the card is still configured for 5.1 output. Also, try reinstalling the driver.
