New soundcard but MIC not working?
I just bought and installed a new soundcard for a friend of mine. It's a diamond Xtreme sound 5.1. I disabled the onboard sound, installed the new drivers, and the sound is working great, however for some reason the Mic port doesn't seem to work. When I speak into the mic I can hear myself talking, or when I breathe into it I can hear the echo, etc, but for some reason I can't get it to record any sound through microsoft "Sound Recorder", and the IBM voice program that he uses is not detecting the Mic either.
I was having the same issue with his onboard sound and I just assumed that his onboard MIC was bad, but perhaps I was wrong? PS: I have tried several different mics so I can rule that possibility out. Last edited by Ericwaycotx; 06-20-2007 at 12:10 PM. |
