Try the 755 sound driver from here.

Re: No Sound since format (Multimedia Audio Controller) - urgent.
Installing that got me a bit further as when i rebooted it displayed an error saying something to do with sound, but still no "multimedia audio controller" in device manager,
Im going to reinstall XP again, and this time im going to format the HDD fully and use that program again, it worked when i first got the PC and its not possible to delete files off the CD! Arh! So confusing!! Thanks for the help though, that EXE seems to get a lot further than my mobo CD one :) Maybe it will work when i complete XP setup AGAIN! :P |

Re: No Sound since format (Multimedia Audio Controller) - urgent.
right, ive come to the conclusion its my motherboard, BUT... will this error be fixed if i get a new sound card? or will i have to get a brand new mobo?
I would go for sound card as its cheaper, but will that give me my mulitmedia audio contorler back? :) any help? :) |

Re: No Sound since format (Multimedia Audio Controller) - urgent.
If you still are looking for a reply on this old post, your software for the old controller probably won't work with a new sound card, but you can disable onboard sound, load drivers and software for your new board, and use the new multimedia control....
