Help Can't Internally Record on my New Laptop's Realtek Soundcard
I just bought a Toshiba A105-S4334 notebook (XP Media Center, Dual 2 Core, 2GB RAM, 160 GB HD) which I'm very happy with but I can't get this laptop to do an internal recording feature that my previous laptop did & current desktop does with the applicable recording program. Specifically, with a program called Audio Mid Recorder (there are many similar programs like this) I can record in real time, a concert that is being streamed/broadcast/anything, from a web site, no matter what the sound file is. For some reason this program and various similar programs I tried, does not recognize a "stereo mixer" as an input to record to, or anything else, with my Realteck HD Audio Card on this laptop. Or more specifically, when I go to Master Volume/Properties/Realtech HD Recording Input the only things in the box are CD volume, microphone volume & line in volume. I can't seem to add anything & hence can't internally record from a web site- we're not talking about downloading but digitally recording a file as it plays. I appologize if this is worded a bit confusing. As I can still do this function on my desktop computer (I use the laptop as a second computer in my bedroom only & don't take it outside my house), I'm not losing sleep over this, but I still would like to do this, if possible. I can record off a Mic if I wish but that's irrelevent. Any help appreciated, if you understand what I'm saying.
