Speaker Issue
I know this isn't sound card related, or at least I don't think so, but I didn't see another category that this fit into. I just got a brand new Dell computer, Dimension C521, and I love it. Problem is, I've got some issues with the speakers. They are 5.1 surround from Dell. Here's the problem : The subwoofer, and the two satellite speakers are functioning properly. However, the front center speaker is making no noise, and the rear left and rear right are very quiet. After doing the test that the software has built in, I realized that it is recognizing the rear speaker as the center one. I tried unhooking all the speakers, restarting the computer, and plugging them back in in the order specified in the directions. Same problem.
Another note : When I do the.. I guess "hardware" test, pressing the test button on the back of the subwoofer, it detects all the speakers correctly. So none of them are broken or anything like that. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Let me know if you need more info. I gotta go to work soon so I didn't have much time to go into detail on specs.EDIT : The computer is running Vista Home Premium. |

Re: Speaker Issue
Well, It doesn't sound like it is the sound card but more the sound card properties fr the speakers. What I mean is that soundcard, if it's like my Creative, came with software, right? The Creative Audio console? Inside there under the speakers and headphones section you are able to change your channels, you might want to make sure that is set up right. Also, if it has onboard, you're gonna want to disable it in the bios.
