Re: Help!
OH geez, a system restore. You should of came here first. I just solved a similar issue with someone yesterday.
In your sound mixer you have two places to select. playback and record. What your problem is, is the record mixer is set to "what you hear" or something equivalent. You need to make sure the input is the mic from the head set. generally you just select microphone in and your down. this sometimes requires clicking the advanced tab which allows you to do a mic boost. You won't know until you try if a mic boost is necessary. I hope this isn't too confusing but I an almost guarantee this is your problem. To set the mixer correctly, double click the speaker icon in the system tray. Click options then properties. You will see an option to set playback or record. You want record. Now look for the mic in. Select it and make sure the lever for the microphone is raised fairly high. Quote:

Re: Help!
OK, I guess I don't understand or your driver set was too old or stock or???
One will never know if you did the restore. I just know this same issue was solved with a user by simply changing the input of the mixer to microphone.

Re: Help!
OK. I won't go any father. I guess you did the system restore before you got here. The thing I always tell users is to get me the version information on the driver in question and who was the source, Dell, Creative, Microsoft Stock, etc.
Perhaps you read some posts in other threads to determine this solution? Anyhow, good going! |
