Sound is skipping...
Ok, all of a sudden I've been having problems with my computer's sound. When I'm playing ANY type of audio, be it music or windows or sound effects or anything, parts of the audio will be cut out (fractions of seconds) and it at other times skips a few seconds if I'm playing a longer audio clip, like a song. This happens even when I end all processes but explorer, and I'm sure all my cords are secure.
Thanks |

Re: Sound is skipping...
don't see your system configuration, but for all its worth. The AMD athlon serious was notorious for this in combination with CPU throttling. I mean I remember this problem to a tee.
Of course you will always get the suggestion to obtain the latest driver from your sound card manufacter... don't get it from your computer vendor, but the chipset company. Many computer companies never update the driver. Furthermore, get the latest directx supported for your OS from microsoft. But this second have of the post is what a level 1 tech support guy would tell you to do. I am only listing it as something to try and probably has nothing to do with your issue. The AMD is more of an advanced answer known from personal experience and facts based on the Athlon. Of course you ruled out a CPU resource hog when you said you killed all processes so unless you missed something, you can always try step two if you aren't running AMD. |
