fortissimo installation problem.
Recently bought this card, and got it into the system... that has been the only part of this installation that was easy.
First, I uninstalled my original SCs drivers, then turn off, took out old, put in new, and booted... so far, goodie. I get onto desktop, I install drivers, and asks about overwrite of an old file a3d.dll I believe. I click yes, and I promptly get a streamci.dll is not a valid image... so I reboot a few times and hope that fixes it, then go into safe mode and download it from freedlls.com and it runs without a hitch. I reboot into normal mode, so far so good... get into the mixer/control panel for it and try to use 2/2 speaker setup... front works but back doesn't, so I try 5.1 and my center/subwoofer work... yay. Go into sound and audio devices... and the thing shows up as envy24 family audio controller, for everything. I try to uninstall the mixer to try again... telling me the uninstall is corrupted, and I lose the mixer icon. So I try reinstalling over it to hopefully bring back anything I can. I get it done, then reboot, and while front sound still works, the mixer pops up for an instant (literally) and disappears. I can't figure out how to remove the software completely and redo the installation, as uninstall will not work. Any help out there? |
