Issue with speaker
Hi, my laptop has a buzzing noise for any video/music. When I connect head phones it's fine. Is it just damaged?
And is there a software to detect my sound card. Thanks. |

buzzy laptop
Hi Andrew,
I have read of earth loop problems with some laptops. I assume the amp or active speakers have a three core mains lead and this is causing the loop. Does the problem exist if the laptop is run soley on battery power, .ie. NO connection to mains power? if this fixes things you need 1:1 isolating transformers in the signal lead, or you can make up a "shielded" return lead. Also check out some of the audio forums, www.audioforums.com www.futurenet.com Come back if this is gibberish! Dave. |

Hi!
Try Everest - http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html. It will identify the hardware in your computer. Nicholas |

Probably RFI (interference). This occurs in my mother's car when her Blackberry is being called. Move away or turn off any cell phones or other devices that may emit RFI and see if it stops.
