What is 8-channel sound?
This may sound ridiculous, but what is 8-channel sound? I can't find this information anywhere.
The root of this question is that I have gotten an ECS KN3 SLI2 mobo and it has 8-channel on-board sound. I have no idea what that means, other than it is integrated and that may/may not be a good idea for the primary purpose of this rig, which is gaming. I have a sound card in my other system with which I am very happy - SB Audigy 2, which is inexpensive so I could get another if needs be. But I can't determine that if I can't find out what the 8-channel sound is! Help?! |
