Sound Not Working!

I posted before about this but obviously did not give enough detail! I have a Compaq Presrio and I got in the summer of 2005. The only noise my computer makes is a beep with AIM. Other than that, it won't play any of my music, any sounds on websites, or anything else. When I go to my Sounds and Audio Devices Properties, it say I don't have no audio device. So what should I do?

My System

Hi firstly, check you have a driver installed, do this by :

Right click my computer
Properties
Hardware tab
Device Manager

Check the sound section, are there any question/exclamation marks?

Report back what you have.

Probably be easier if you tell us the model number and we'll direct you to it. Sorry havent seen this thread in a while.
