Onboard Realtek failed, installed Sound Blaster, problems have occured...
First of all, I really love the forums here guys. By far one of the best I have came across...I have fervently searched the forums but haven't found a fix for my problem yet...
Anyways, I am having some problems on my PC. First of all the system is very slow to load up, taking several minutes to access the login screen. When I'm finally able to log in, programs are very slow to load and my sound is hiccuping like crazy. It recognizes my Sound Blaster card, but also says in device manager the a new Multimedia Audio Controller is found and its prompts me to install drivers. The sound works as long as I do nothing; however, when I try to open apps, processes, etc. the music skips and hiccups and my system slows badly. I have installed a Sound Blaster 24-bit card to my system and since onboard sound cannot be disabled in my BIOS, I have taken all of the steps to remove all traces of Realtek sound and drivers. I have tried uninstalling all sound drivers, reinserting the card, and reinstalling the SB drivers, but to no avail. It seems the onboard and PCI sound are fighting for use. My system specs are not uber, but there is no reason why I should be running as slow as I am and I cannot find any logical reason for my sound issues... CCleaner, Spybot, AAW, and AVG scans are all clean. Right now I can use all the help I can get. If my post is a bit scattered, sorry...If you need any info not listed I will be glad to list it... Thanks in advance guys, Gabe AMD 3400+ Phoenix BIOS 6.00PG 1.5Gb RAM EDT: I accidentally started this forum in the motherboard forum and cant move it, sorry for the double post... |
