Sound Card Wierd Problem

Ok, so I accidently destryoed my AC'97 onboard soundcard, so I have disbaled it at BIOS

I have purchased a new soundcard...CMI18738/PCI-6ch-LX

When I first plug it in to a PCI slot and start windows it is detected then runs and it works a charm...but if I reboot, windiws won't start just a black screen and I have to either unplug the card and put it in a new slot or disable it in safe mode and go without (can start in safe mode)

Anyone out there that can help???

Thanks
-Tim

it is a slow process but
in msconfig startup untick the boxes, reboot reticking one at a time until you isolate the problem one
then reinstall the offending program,if it is sound or video disable a/virus whilst you do the install and then reboot
