My System

Could you tell us the make and model of your sound card? Did you install the latest drivers?

Take a look at the Device Manager (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab, Device Manager) and tell us if there are any yellow exclamation points in any of the listings. Also check Volume Control (double-click the little speaker icon in the system tray/notification area) and make sure the volume is sufficiently high enough and isn't muted out.
