Soundblaster Optical In question

I just reinstalled XP Pro and my Optical In on my soundblaster platinum won't work anymore. I checked all the connections and there is light coming through the Optic cable, I'm getting a picture on my monitor from my DirecTV HD Box It was working fine before the reinstll Is there a setting that I'm forgetting? I even reinstalled the sound card and checked those connections.

Someone told me I had to turn the Optical In on, In the Audio HQ but I don't have the option that he explained. " I'm not sure but try changing the option in the AudioHQ->Device Controls->Digital Input. " But it dose sound familure, ther is a Optical Out but I have nothing to hook it too to see if that works, all the other plug ins on the front unit work Like the headphones and the Firewire plug so the power going to the front unit works.

Ah, I thought you meant the out, not the in. Sorry.

I would look around the Audio HQ. I don't have a creative card, so I can't give specific instructions, but check that it is enabled and it is the default input device. Also, make sure the volume is up for the optical input.
