Hi, i currently have a live 5.1 card running two desktop+sub.
what id like to do is run the game sounds through the desktop speakers but have teamspeak run through headphones with the mic aswell. now what sort of card would i need or could i run the headset through onboard (ac97) and the game through the live card. You can try enabling both your sound card and onboard sound although this is usually not recommended because it can cause conflicts, but if no errors occur no harm will be done. If errors do occur go back and disable onboard sound. Some motherboards will autodetect the sound card and you won't have the option to enable the onboard sound. If you are successful in enabling both sound drivers you should be able to set which sound driver you want each program to use in their options. For example in TeamSpeak go to settings then options, there you will see the sound devices input and output, both devices should be listed and you can choose which ever device your other program is not using.
