Strange Sounds O_o
I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music sound card. Whenever I am in windows I hear strange noises when playing any kind of sound. I restart my computer and everything sounds normal. Whenever I turn my computer on I have to restart so that the sound works correctly. I've updated my drivers, tried different PCI slots, and uninstalled the driver from device manager then scanned for it again. For some reason my AGP video card is sharing the same IRQ as my sound card. Anyone have a solution for this problem?

Depending on your motherboard and bios there should be an option to manually change the IRQ of devices. You might be able to change the IRQ of the audio card there. On my ECS mb it's under PNP/PCI config -> Resources controlled by. It's set to auto by default but you can set it to manual and change IRQ's. On my MSI board it's a little bit trickier. From what I understand reading the manual it allows you to set each IRQ to PCI or ISA. So if you want to reserve the IRQ for the video card you could set that IRQ to ISA and no PCI devices should attempt to use that IRQ.

All of my drivers are updated directly from the manufacturers site. I tried to go into my bios and change the IRQ and it only goes up to IRQ 15. The sound card and video card are on IRQ 16. How do I change IRQ 16?
