reformatted my hard drive...now there is no sound
subject says it all. I just "restored" my copy of XP to the original factory settings, and now I can't get any sound.
I downloaded the drivers from Dell, but still no joy. any ideas? |

If you go to start run type sndvol32, does the volume control come up? make sure your speakers are plugged in the correct port, try playing an audio file and plug your speakers in all of the ports until you get sound, whats the model of your computer, after u installed the drivers did it prompt you to restart?..alot of questions i know ;)

In Control Panel, under Sounds and Audio Devices is there anything listed? Also look in the Device Manager for a yellow question mark or exclamation point, reply back your findings
