OS: windows XP Professional Edition sp2

Soundblaster audigy 4
I was going to get the sb audigy 4 from bestbuy for $80 but I noticed that it said that it supported 5.1 6.1 and 7.1 speakers, I have 2.1 speakers, can and should I still get it or is it a waste of eighty buckoroonies?

Unless your mobo does not have onboard sound, you'll have no real improvement unless you use the 5.1 or 7.1 speakers in my opinion....save the $80.

It will still work with 2.1. But twajetmech brought up a good point, mosr onboard sound cards are pretty good these days. Some even support 5.1/7.1 channel sound.
