Unclear motherboard description- do I need to buy a sound card?
I put a new computer recently, but seemed to have overlooked the issue for the sound card. Looking back at the motherboard, it says that it has an "8-channel (7.1) audio subsystem with five analog audio outputs and one S/PDIF optical digital audio output using the Sigmatel* 9220 audio codec". I say this means it has no actual sound card - my dad says it does, on the basis of the fact that it has all of the audio jack there. The computer recognises no sound card. Does this mean I need to buy a sound card?
