edirol ua-5 driver problem - usb audio driver installed instead
hello everyone, I have just got a edirol ua-5 usb box. I have downloaded the drivers for my pc (XP) and turned on the box. my pc automatically istalls the usb audio driver and says all is fine but I need to install manually. How do I get windowns to stop automatically installing drivers? When I goto the usbaudio in device manager and try to uninstall and install I cant see the driver(ie edirol)..
can anyone help me please...... |

first, go here and download and use the cleaning utility to remove any drivers that may or may not be installed....
then, read yur damn manual!!!!! sorry, but its rather obvious you haven't done this, as it clearly states to install the drivers with the sound card disconnected from your computer...its plain that you had the card connected and powered up, as windoze did its own install of 'drivers' (actually, in the case of my turtle beach sound card, M$'s drivers are better..strange, but true) when it detected the presence of a new device connected via the usb port... |

hey! hold on a sec...
I have read the manual (Readme_E.html) and it states that once you start the Setupinf.exe file it then asks for the edirol card to be switched on. But for some reason it still starts to load the wrong driver and doesn't let me load the driver manually by following the INSTRUCTIONS!!...
I would just like to point out that reading manuals is the fist step I took, so i appreciate if you tone down your passing insults... cheers L I S T E R |

guess I'm gonna have to apologize here as after reading further in the manual, IC the directions you describe....
it would appear the best place for you to get information on this would be via the telephone directly to Roland's support team, as apparently I am the only person who frequents this forum who uses pro audio sound cards and I'm a user of Delta products (2496 audiophile and 1010lt)...hence I for sure have no experience with edirol products (though I have heard they are good) and I'm pretty sure no other regular user of this board has any either... |

Re: edirol ua-5 driver problem - usb audio driver installed instead
Hi Lister110, are you still having that problem with the edirol ua-5 drivers? Because I'm having exaclty the same problem now.
I used to have this audio interface working with my laptop, and I never had this issue. Now I decided to plug it into my new desktop and the windows XP automatically recognizes the interface, without giving me the chance to chose the drivers. It's driving me nuts! I want to set the audio buffer size to decrease recording latency and I guess I have no way to do it without the drivers. Cheers |
