crackling sound

Hello,

i have a sound problem too:

While i am hearing MP3s or ANY other sound there`s a crackling sound in the background.
What could this be.
This occures on onboardsound AND Creative-PCI64. And on new installed WIN2000/WinXP.
BUT not on Live-Linux System!!!
Any suggestions?

System:
Asus P4C800E-Deluxe
Creative-PCI64

Sounds like a codec issue. Does it happen with all MP3s or just some? You may need to update your codecs.

It´s only on the MP3. Any sound!

So I don´t think it`s a codec problem....

First, go into bios and disable onboard sound, after that go to creatives web site and make sure you have the most current drivers for your sounds card.

disabling sound card: already done

Creative (already done): No latest drivers for XP/2000. They say their latest drivers are included in WinXP/2000.

So, my problem is still not solved ;-(
