Programs with associated sound & using keyboard causes popping/cracking noise
This problem has been occurring for a long-long time, but I have put up with it. I have a SONY VIAO PCV-RZ20CP(UC) ACPI BIOS Revision 1001 Desktop PC with Win XP Professional 5.01.2600Service Pack 2 on board. The sound card came preinstalled by SONY in the system and it is a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, DR release 2.8.4. The keyboard is the original SONY keyboard.
Anyway here is the problem: Whenever I have any program open that has sounds or music in its program and I use my keyboard to type I get these god-awful popping and screeching noises whenever I hit a keyboard key. If I close that or any program that has sounds associated with it and use the keyboard everything is quiet and normal when I type. My system drivers (including the soundcard) are current and windows compliant. This has been a pain since I first bought this computer with the Creative soundcard new a few years ago. I have learned to live with not multitasking if I have a program open that has sound associated with it. Occasionally I have searched the internet and have seen a couple of posts on this very same problem with the use a keyboard and Creative SB Card. I have yet to see a solution. Does anyone have any suggestions; or have a solution???? Thanks Last edited by Mtnmike; 06-14-2006 at 11:14 AM. Reason: length of title |

Get the latest drivers for your motherboard/sound/and video... May fix and all so get the latest media codec’s and directX... may fix too...
And try a different key board to see if that helps... Post back if non off that worked..
