formatting a flash drive

u know i had to install sega cue maker a while back on my flash drive cuz it refused to install anywhere on my hdd, strange huh

anyways i dont have a use for it now so i uninstalled it, but theres nothing on my drive and it says 300 MBs are used, so i was wondering is it just as easy and safe to format one as it is say a regular hdd? i usually use partition magic and just select format for a normal hdd but i wasnt sure about doing that on a flash drive

thanks

i dont know if it matters but i have a 2GB lexar lightning drive

I wouldnt think partition magic would detect your drive. I think many companies provide a low level format utility for flash drives. I would check the lexar website.

the guy at lexar said to just have it plugged in and open my computer, right click and select format

that seems too basic to me, i dont want to damage it, cost me 110 bucks, (2 GB)

ok if thats the way i should go do i format it into ntfs or fat32? my current PC hdd is in ntfs
