DVD Burner Problems

I have a Pioneer 106D has worked great for years, burned hundreds of DVDs/CDs. All of a sudden it is having the following problems:

1. Will not read DVDs from Regions other than 1 (ex. Region 2 UK)
2. Will not read burnt movies on DVD-R

These movies work fine in a DVD player.

In the properties of the DVD burner the region is set to Region 1. I have never changed this and Region 2 still use to work.

Any ideas of what could be wrong???

Thanks

Tried all the Microsoft Help stuff, no good. Still having the problem, can not read burned DVDs. And other ideas?????

Cleaned lens and still nothing. Might be time for a new burner.

I would try a different drive. If it is working I would replace my old one.
